Sydney based artist Kween G has unveiled her recent release Something in Your Eyes.
Gracing us with her provocative, unflinching, and authentic lyrics and style Kween is an
emerging icon in the Australian Music Industry. As an artist, MC, community advocate and
curator her commitment to her own artistry and to supporting emerging artists is formidable.
Something in Your Eyes is about identifying when someone has been affected by traumatic times. Kween’s ability to take a serious topic and entertain and enlighten in equal
measure is a true testament to her talent. Track was produced by Zain K. Kween G explains, ‘A rise of consciousness is in order to identify and recognize a connection to humanity. I go deep with the bars; I was inspired by how humanity, as a whole, responded to the global crisis while still having so many unsolved injustices.’
Accompanying the release is a music video direct by The Thriller Vision. The video depicts Kween G in her natural surroundings- real footage of her sisterhood that represents empowering and holding space for one another. Kween states ‘The eyes never lie trauma can live the eye you can recognise someone trauma when you look.’
Following on from her previous single Love for My Sisters, Kween continues to demonstrate
her strong advocacy for inclusion, social justice, human rights and women’s representation within the music industry.
With her new EP set to be released later this year, Kween G is a
standout.
